The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
